Introduction

As a teacher in a regular or special education classroom you may at one time or another have a child with a hearing loss. This may be a child with or without hearing aids or that comes with an interpreter. These students have special needs as simple as preferential seating in the classroom so they can hear/see better or more complex such as an Itinerant Hearing Support Teacher visiting on a regular basis.

Within these pages you will find:

  • Information about hearing loss
  • How to work with an interpreter in the classroom
  • Tips for communicating with a child with a hearing loss
  • Information about technology
  • What would you do if? scenarios

Participate in our survey. Then check out these Hearing Facts.
